Summary

This document presents a discussion proposal about deploying StaFiHub, an appchain of the StaFi Protocol, into Neutron. The aim is to enhance StaFi’s security model by transitioning from appchain-based to native security for its rToken products (such as rATOM and StaFi LSD). The integration with Neutron is expected to provide StaFiHub with robust security, drawing from the ICS security framework of CosmosHub via Neutron.

This strategic move is also anticipated to offer substantial benefits to Neutron, including the addition of a significant ecosystem player, an increase in Total Value Locked (TVL), and the adoption of liquid staking derivatives (LSD).

About StaFi
StaFi Protocol is a decentralized multichain liquid staking solution for Proof of Stake (PoS) blockchains. It addresses the conflict between the need for Mainnet security and the liquidity of PoS tokens. Users can stake their PoS tokens via StaFi rToken App and receive rTokens in return. These rTokens can be traded freely while users continue to earn staking rewards. The platform currently supports various liquid staking solutions, including rETH (StaFi Staked ETH), rMATIC, rBNB, rATOM, and others.

Hey @Liam_Young very interesting proposal. Neutron was actually originally designed because no Cosmos chain was feature-complete enough to permissionlessly design a great liquid staking protocol. As a result a bunch of Lido contributors decided to go ahead and build that platform. Astroport and Mars have also both recently made the switch from a standalone appchain to using Neutron as their base layer.

What do you think the next steps are towards making the transition ?

There are many work needed to be done before transition.

I personally support the transition, and the tech team seems it is workable, the next process will be further exploring, and see if there is any feedback from the StaFi Community.
The vision is to create a sound LSD solution to cove most of the Cosmos based projects in Neutron(a contract based not appchain based), it should be easy, secure and decentralized, def we foresee the target here.
